Your questions, answered.

We love handling your “Why’s”, “How’s” and “What if’s” about solar power.
It shows you care.

What should I get first, solar power or solar heated hot water?

A solar power system should be your first step into tapping the energy of the sun. Solar power is less expensive to install, less intrusive aesthetically (i.e., no ugly pipes and a dramatically thinner, more appealing set of panels), and thanks to incentives and tax credits, much more affordable than a solar hot water system. Our suggestion: Supply 100% of your home’s electricity through solar power before you consider solar heated water.

Who installs an InPower solar solution?

We do, no matter what size or scope of solar power system you purchase. We obtain the building permits, schedule the inspections, and work with the utility company. InPower is COSEIA certified and employs licensed electricians for all the high-voltage work. You don’t have to do anything.

How fast will my solar electric system pay for itself?

In terms of value, an InPower Systems installation instantly boosts the resale value of your property, usually up to double the amount you paid for the system. Try that with a kitchen remodel. The monthly savings in utility bills generally pays for the monthly cost of a financed system. In terms of energy savings, the average is 12 years. Any power produced after that for the next 25+ is money in the bank.

Won’t a better and cheaper solar technology come along and render today’s systems obsolete?

No. Solar electric systems are simple. In fact, panels erected in the 1970s are still producing reliable power for their owners, and they will for decades to come. The silicon-based photovoltaic panels used by InPower haven’t changed in years, and by waiting for something better and cheaper, you’re exposing yourself to higher utility rates, and you risk missing out on the incredible cost and tax incentives available today.

Aren’t solar panels going to make my house look ugly?

At InPower we pride ourselves on integrating our installations into the design aesthetic of your home or building--that’s why we have an architect on staff. We also use unobtrusive, sleek one-inch thick black panels, or we can produce panels in 12 different colors, and we even offer transparent panels that can double as a sky-lights.
